In the isolated village of Borralha, located in Montalegre – interior north of Portugal – the land is marked by the remains of a mining operation that has long been abandoned.
The ruins that we find evoke both the industrial past of this land and conjure up its future, disputed between the desire to once again exploit underground resources and the will to preserve the agricultural and natural heritage. A dispute in which the identity of the territory is defined.
