T’Hennai is a documentary that proposes a journey.
A journey to the country of origin of the director’s father and paternal family, a journey to her grandmother’s and father’s memories of nomadic times in Mauritania and a journey to her grandmother’s expectations of her granddaughter, the director, which are drawn in an emotional construction of a complicit love through the camera.
The director invites us on a journey through the three generations – mother/grandmother, son/father, daughter/granddaughter – who meet in a space and time of their own and through which they draw the past, the present and the expectations of the future.
It is therefore a movie about love.
